transform Back To school

about

Gaps in grade-level competencies and skills cause students to struggle and eventually dropout, leading to an abrupt stop in the learning process and debilitating lifelong earning capacity. The COVID pandemic has only widened these breaches in learning.

Transform Back to School is a programme that supports the re-entry of students who have dropped out, and prevents further dropouts through a bridge learning course. It provides support to at-risk children through community engagement strategies.

The 200-hour blended programme provides academic and co-scholastic support through a bridge learning course. It is delivered in community safe spaces where vulnerable children are mapped, to identify those at the highest risk of dropping out. The programme works on building academic competencies as well as providing socio-economic support, gender and equity workshops.

The programme assesses the reasons why students drop out and provides community support to mitigate these risks. It also measures learning gains after the bridge learning course has been completed.
