Transform Learning is a finalist for WISE Awards 2023!

Transform Schools’ flagship Impact At Scale model - Transform Learning has been shortlisted to be among the 12 finalists of the 2023 WISE Awards.

Each year, the initiative celebrates innovative solutions from across the world that address the most urgent educational challenges. The WISE Awards pre-jury select the finalists based on their innovative character, positive contribution to learning, and potential for scalability and adaptability.

We are honoured to be selected as a finalist for the WISE Awards. Transform Learning is a reflection of our commitment to transforming secondary education in India, and we look forward to continuing our work to create a more effective, inclusive and equitable education system in line with the country’s own policy focus and the SDGs - Pankaj Vinayak Sharma, CEO Transform Schools

Transform Learning is a targeted instruction learning programme aimed at improving student transition and retention in secondary classes in Indian government schools. The programme is delivered through the State’s existing education ecosystem in close collaboration with its functionaries. The programme has been in use in six states, where it has impacted more than 6.4M students since its inception in 2019. The programme has been evaluated by an J-PAL South Asia, through an RCT and the findings are truly heartening!

In just 50 hours of targeted instruction, the programme adds 0.4 - 1.5 years of additional learning for participating students. The programme is successfully improving the quality of teaching-learning in the classroom, as well as the State’s capacity to implement and manage at-scale learning enhancement programmes!

Research is showing that targeted instruction methodology that TL uses can be instrumental in helping post-COVID learning loss. In the next few years we aim to partner with many more State governments to be able to support students in India to access a high quality education that will help them recover from pandemic-linked learning losses, and ensure a good quality of life!

Watch what students, teachers and other stakeholders had to say about our programme in one of our partner states - Odisha.
